Quanta Power Generation will be providing engineering, procurement and construction services, as requested by GCL Solar Energy, for two PV facilities near Alpaugh, California, which total 70MW. The contract will see Quanta working with GCL subsidiary, SPS Alpaugh, for the design, engineering, procurement and installation of all equipment for the Alpaugh 50MW project. Pre-construction pursuits began in February with the project expected to be completed by the end of this year.
Quanta will also work, under a separate contract with Alpaugh North, another GCL Solar subsidiary, to provide its services for the 20MW Alpaugh North project, which is expected to be completed in October. The two solar sites will utilize nearly 324,000 solar tracking modules, provided by GCL Solar Energy and be built across 500 acres.
“These two solar facilities are expected to support the local economy through job creation and generation of clean, renewable power,” said Jim O'Neil, president and chief executive officer of Quanta Services. “We are proud to be part of the team and to apply our expertise in engineering, procurement and construction to such an important project.”
