A nationwide protest against the proposed solar feed-in tariff cuts is being organised by the German solar industry for Thursday, 4th of February. Companies across the country are organising rallies at various locations, some co-ordinated with local rivals. Approximately 78,000 people are directly employed in the industry, which fears that the proposed cuts of approximately 15%, above those already introduced at the beginning of the year, would lead to a slowdown in demand and the loss of jobs.
Demonstrations are set to take place in Alzenau, Arnstadt, Bitterfeld-Wolfen OT Thalheim, Erfurt, Frankfurt / Oder, Berlin, Konstanz, Fürth, Cologne, Nuremberg, Neckarsulm and Freiberg. All the rallies are set to start between 11:45 am and noon, Thursday.
