Starting Sept. 1, ersol Solar Energy will become Bosch Solar Energy as part of the parent company’s rebranding of its solar photovoltaic sector units. The three ersol subsidiaries will also be renamed: ingot/wafer manufacturer ASi Industries will become Bosch Solar Wafers; ersol Crystalline Modules will turn into Bosch Solar Modules; and ersol Thin Film will be Bosch Solar Thin Film.
As part of the renaming moves, a new Website–www.bosch-solarenergy.com–will go live on Sept. 1. The new branding will take effect within and outside the company’s manufacturing sites and will appear on all of its product labeling, according to Bosch.
“As Bosch Solar Energy AG, from now on the company will directly benefit from the high name recognition, global presence, decades-long tradition, and strong attributes such as quality, innovation and customer orientation of the Bosch brand,” said Holger von Hebel (pictured), CEO of the newly christened unit.
The future branding status of other solar companies in which Bosch has or soon will have a substantial ownership percentage, such as CIS thin-film PV manufacturer Johanna Solar and module maker aleo solar, remains unclear.
