GreenVolts to commission a 288kW solar system in California

GreenVolts has commissioned a 288kW project for Beneficial Insectary in Redding, California, US. The system will provide solar power that will offset more than 80% of the facility’s electric usage.

The integrated solar system provider will install the CPV system alongside its ISIS energy management software to monitor and control the system remotely from its office. GreenVolt offers single-contact, system-wide customer support and a 20-year total system performance warranty. At the end of 2011, GreenVolts received a US$20 million investment from ABB Technology Ventures, boosting its previous CPV and CST capabilities.

Beneficial Insectary is a producer and distributor of biologically-based pest management products for sustainable agriculture, horticulture and livestock production. The company was looking to reduce its energy costs for air conditioning, heating, humidity control and lighting. As much of the site’s energy use is during the afternoon, when electricity is most expensive, it was equally important to find a solution that would provide as much energy possible during these high-demand times.
