Solar International said
today that it has added former Western Digital executive Matthew Massengill to its board, bringing the number of directors to seven.
Massengill is the former chairman/president/CEO of Western Digital and remains a director of the corporation. For more than 20 years, he worked in a variety of roles at the company, including serving as chief operating officer. He also serves on the boards of semiconductor companies Conexant and Microsemi. Massengill holds a BS in engineering from Purdue University and
has received Outstanding Electrical Engineering Alumni and
Distinguished Engineering Alumni awards from the university.

The solar manufacturing equipment company also announced that it has been named to the NASDAQ Clean
Edge U.S. Liquid Series Index (NASDAQ: CELS), an index designed
to track the performance of clean energy companies that are publicly
traded in the United States. GT Solar will be added to the index effective Monday, Sept. 22.
