Chinese manufacturer Hanwha SolarOne is to strengthen its position in Israel’s flourishing solar market by opening its first office in the country.
Based near Tel Aviv, the new office will be run by Eran Kopel, Hanwah’s newly appointed Sales and Marketing Director for Israel.
Justin Lee, Managing Director of Hanwha SolarOne GmbH, said: “Israel is a very promising market for the PV industry and an important market for Hanwha SolarOne. Due to its sunny climate, which provides approximately 1,800kWh a year, grid parity is just around the corner.”
Kopel, who previously managed sales and marketing for SunPower in Israel, added: “Opening the office in Israel was an important first step to improving service for Israeli customers. We will now concentrate on investing in strong partnerships with installers, EPCs and developers.”
