PV module manufacturer Hanwha SolarOne has successfully supplied 2MW of its modules to the recently completed Ozkoyuncu Solar Enerji power plant in the Turkish province of Kayseri, Cappadocia.
Turkish EPC contractor Else Enerji completed the plant on behalf of one of the largest mining companies in the country – Ozkoyuncu Mining Co. Based on a number of tests and reviews performed by German testing institute TÜV Rheinland, Hanwha qualified as the PV module supplier for the project.
Mustafa Herdem, general manager of Else Enerji, said: “The PV modules from Hanwha Solar have already demonstrated their high performance and reliable output in existing solar park realised by Else Enerji in Turkey. As expected, our positive experience in the field was confirmed by the stringent third-party quality assessment performed in Germany by TÜV Rheinland. The combination of high-quality products and a financially strong parent company represent an attractive package for our investors. We are currently investigating the prospects of further solar projects in Turkey.”
Construction on the plant began on 1 May and was completed 4 July. The facility is located on a 15.4-hecate site near the Kayseri-Nigde highway in the province of Kayseri, Cappadocia. The plant will produce approximately 3.4 million kWh of electricity per year.
