Module manufacturer Hanwha SolarOne has won a 20MW supply contract with Hong Solar.
The company has already begun supplying modules for a utility-scale project in Baotou, Inner Mongolia. It expects to complete delivery before the end of the year.
“As a tier-one solar manufacturer, Hanwha SolarOne continues to provide customers like Hong Solar [with] highly efficient, dependable modules,” said Jay Seo, chief financial officer, Hanwha SolarOne.
“We are pleased that our recent concentration on branding and marketing in China is paying off as our sales momentum grows in the country. We hope 2015 will be a defining year for the company, especially in China as we look to further gain market share,” added Seo.
Last month the company lowered its module shipment guidance for the full year. China became a key market for the company in the third quarter representing 30% of revenue compared to only 6% in the previous quarter.
