CIMAC, the software service solutions provider to the semiconductor and solar industries, has decided to face the losses encountered in the industry downturn by applying large discounts on IT Innovation’s suite of products for equipment SECS/GEM connectivity software. The companies have agreed to lower the runtime license fee by 50% and abolishing the up-front cost for software development licenses and drivers.
This will undoubtedly be welcome news to those manufacturers who have been attempting to their lower cost of operations and their current SECS/GEM/300mm runtime licenses cost, which can cost from $200,000 to $500,000 per annum.
SECS/GEM and 300mm SEMI standards have, for more than 20 years, been the main publication of technical requirements for equipment suppliers, and allow facilities to control equipment, collect data, manage equipment recipes and monitor equipment performance.
“With their success at Samsung, Hynix and LG, IT Innovation has quickly become an industry leader in equipment connectivity software,” commented Yezala Abayneh, President & CEO of CIMAC. “We are confident that our new discount strategy will help OEMs; not only lower their cost of BOMs, but also upgrading their SECS/GEM software to future industry compliance. We look forward to helping our customer reduce cost and integrate a proven SECS/GEM interface.”
