HelioVolt’s HVC-170X modules were recently granted ANSI/UL-1703, IEC-61646 and IEC-61730 certifications after testing was completed by Intertek-ETL. The company’s monolithically integrated panels are manufactured at its Austin, Texas plant using HelioVolt’s proprietary CIGS technology.
“The rigorous outdoor testing and reliability programs we have invested in over the past three years have given us great confidence in the superior performance of our modules. We are pleased to offer the first in a rapidly developing series of commercially available products to our strategic customers,” said Dr. BJ Stanbery, HelioVolt’s founder and chairman.
The announcement comes just a few months after the company revealed the US$50 million investment made by SK Group in September for the expansion of HelioVolt’s Austin facility. At the time Stanbery told PV-Tech that the investment would go towards the “feasibility” of the company’s “commercial production technology,” increasing its operations and beginning the investigation into new production tools for volume manufacturing.
