The full list of companies approved for Egypt’s 2GW large-scale solar tender has been released.
PV heavyweights First Solar, SunEdison and Yingli – the latter two as part of a consortium – are all represented. Chinese technology and engineering monoliths, ZTE and Huawei, both make an appearance as does Chinese project developer Hareon.
First Solar and SunEdison are also listed together as part of a larger consortium.
European utilities and independent power producers are well represented with EDF, GDF Suez and Enel Green Power all on the list.
Daewoo, Toyota and Total are also members of approved consortia.
Saudi Arabia’s ACWA Power, which set a world record low bid for solar production in a 100MW tender in Dubai, has also been approved.
The 2GW tender for PV projects over 20MW is part of a 4.3GW round of renewable energy procurement.
