Asia Pulse has reported that Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. (HHI), one of the world’s largest shipyards, announced its US$40 million deal with MHH Solartechnik to provide solar modules. The modules are scheduled for delivery by the end of next year.
HHI completed construction of its first solar-cell plant, which can produce 30MW of solar modules annually with plans to start a second factory in 2010 with 330MW capacity. HHI said states that it is expanding into the alternative energy business so that it can diversify its business portfolio.
