The northern province of India, Uttar Pradesh, is calling for bids to develop 300MW of solar capacity.
Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency has invited solar developers to submit proposals to develop grid-connected projects, with a deadline for documents and proposals of 8 September.
The 300MW proposal is in line with the state solar power policy. Uttar Pradesh has set the goal of reaching 500MW of solar power capacity by 2017.
Uttar Pradesh is also to hold a separate 20MW auction for smaller solar developments of up to 5MW.
Last year the Uttar Pradesh government signed contracts with various private and state-owned bodies for 230MW of PV capacity.
