Neo Solar Power has signed a poly silicon supply contract with Hankook Silicon, which will provide them with 11,600 tonnes of poly silicon between 2011 and 2017. The agreement not only provides Neo Solar Power with a stable long-term poly silicon supply but also reinforces the strategic alliance between the two companies.

SunPower sees substantial growth in store in fiscal year 2011, with annual revenues expected to range between $2.65 billion and $2.85 billion as well as PV cell production of 900-945MW at its three fabrication facilities. The company’s already issued its 2010 guidance, which forecasts revenues of $2.15 billion-$2.25 billion and cell production of 570-580MW. The company also said it has signed a deal to sell the Solare Roma PV power plant in Italy.

Arise Technologies signed a non-binding letter of intent (LOI) with an undisclosed turnkey supplier for the purchase of two 60MW PV cell production lines, which will be added to its German plant. The LOI gives Arise four weeks to complete the definitive purchase agreement and acquire the required debt, equity and government funding necessary to buy the new production lines.

HyperSolar’s development team has found that new design models are showing potential magnification of 300%. Using a thin and flat light magnification layer, thousands of small light collectors take the light into a light routing network, which then transmits the light to a smaller output area on the bottom where a solar cell can be attached. HyperSolar states that only one solar cell is needed under a 300% HyperSolar layer.

BTU International has received another follow-on order for its Tritan metallization firing systems, which feature BTU's TriSpeed technology. The system was chosen for its ability to ramp up to 200 degrees Celsius per second while not compromising the drying and cooling sections of the profile.

Solargiga Energy Holdings has begun the process for acquiring Sino Light Investments by entering into a sales and purchase agreement with the company. Solargiga has conditionally agreed to buy 100% of Sino Light’s issued shares at a consideration of HK$835,200,000. This total amount will be completed in full once convertible bonds, at a conversion price of HK$1.92 per conversion share, are completed and will total 435,000,000 conversion shares issued.

China Technology Development Group has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Goldpoly International to establish a long-term relationship for the supply of solar cells, and to jointly build up the vertically integrated PV value chain. The terms of the deal call for Goldpoly to provide CTDC with at least 100MW polycrystalline-silicon PV cells per year, at the lowest market price, beginning in 2011. CTDC agreed to preferentially purchase the cells from Goldpoly as its major supplier.

In releasing preliminary nine-month financial figures, PV equipment supplier Roth & Rau saw sales and profits impacted by several delays in turnkey projects and a probable cancellation of turnkey projects in India, which were not detailed in a statement. Roth & Rau said that it would probably achieve a total revenue of €189.2 million for the period, compared to €159.5 million in the same period a year ago. Earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) are expected to be only €3.0 million, compared with €13.1 million in the year ago period.

Manz Automation has reported strong revenue growth in the first nine months of 2010. Sales reached €121.3 million, compared to €46.7 million in the same period a year ago. Revenues in the third quarter of 2010 reached €53.8 million, driven by new product sales for the production of crystalline solar cells. Revenue was €18.5 million in the same quarter of the previous year. Due to continued demand, Manz has raised its revenue guidance for 2010 to between €170 - €175 million, up from at least, €140 million.
