French electrical engineering firm Ingeteam announced that it has supplied inverters to 12 photovoltaic (PV) plants totalling 86MW that have been connected over the last six months in France.
The company, which specialises in developing electrical equipment including motors and generators, has diversified into manufacturing inverters for PV power stations. The company claims it has now supplied 25% of the projects approved by the French Energy Regulatory Commission with inverters. Ingeteam has been involved with 30 projects over 1MW in size and participated in commissioning more than 240MW.
During 2013 alone the company has provided 156MW of solar inverters to the French market, including mainland France and French overseas territories and provinces. The company has offices in 10 other countries, including Chile, China, India, South Africa and the US. In October Ingeteam was awarded a 94MW inverter contract in South Africa.
The 12 projects connected over the last six months are located on the southern coast of France as well as in Aquitaine and the Pyrenees mountain region. Ingeteam’s Ingecon range of inverters are sold with rated capacities of 2.5kW to 1MW, making it the first company to make a 1MW inverter available on the French market.
