Innovalight has hired Michael Johnson as its CFO. He brings more than 30 years of experience to the company, which develops and sells silicon ink-based high-efficiency solar cell materials and technology. During his career, Johnson has worked for Baron Data Systems, Ascend Communications, CacheFlow, Amber Networks, and most recently, Trapeze Networks (where he was CFO).
The new finance officer, who joined Innovalight in February, has been been instrumental in several very successful initial public offerings that raised over $500 million in new capital. He has also executed some notable transactions that created successful exits for investors to the tune of approximately $2 billion, as well as mergers worth more than $4 billion, according to the company.
“Mike brings extraordinary talent to Innovalight at just the right time as we scale our business,” said Conrad Burke, president/CEO of the company. “His track record in helping build great companies and creating value is well-known in Silicon Valley.”
Johnson, a CPA, holds a BS in business administration from California State University, Hayward.
The appointment marks Innovalight’s second major hiring in the past month, as the company recently announced that Boris Mathiszik had come on board as its VP of worldwide sales. The firm also said earlier this year that it had raised $18 million in additional capital.
