During Intersolar Europe’s three day solar industry exhibition in Munich, 72,000 visitors came through the doors from 150 nations to sample the 1,880 exhibitions. The number of exhibitor’s at the trade show increased by 33% from 2009’s numbers with visitor’s increasing by 23%.
Klaus W. Seilnacht, Managing Director of Freiburg Wirtschaft Touristik und Messe, an organizer of the exhibition, stated: “Not only did we have more exhibitors, visitors and press than in the previous years; the exhibition has also become even more international. 53% of the exhibitors came from outside Germany. Visitors from 150 different countries traveled to Munich for the exhibition. This has clearly proven the position of Intersolar Europe as the international meeting point of the industry and consolidated the exhibition’s function as the leading show of the solar industry.”
In addition to the exhibitions, Intersolar Europe presented the Intersolar Award during the week. ABB Schweiz, Gehrlicher Solar and SMA Solar Technology took home the Intersolar Award for “Photovoltaics” while the “Solar Thermal” award went to FSAVE Solartechnik, InvenSor and the joint submission from the Institute for Building Construction and Design at Stuggart University, Ritter Energieund Umwelttechnick, Hydro Building Systems and Frener & Reifer Metallbau. Festo AG, Gemo-Tec and Gebr. Schmid took home the first ever award for “PV Production Technology”
