Module manufacturer CNPV Solar Power is using Intersolar North America to detail its linear power warranty that they launched at Intersolar Munich, this year. CNPV’s linear power warranty is guaranteeing 7% more power than a ‘traditional power warranty,’ that is normally a ‘two step’ approach with trigger points at 10-12 years and 25 years.
The CNPV’s linear power warranty assurance specifically creates a definitive linear continuous underwriting of the power curve with provision for the module output to change by no more than 0.67% per year, after the first year of installation. CNPV had previously offered a ‘two step’ power warranty of 25 years.
“Our 90% power warranty on the 'two step' model was already at the leading edge of what was available with a 12 year trigger point; this is still maintained within the new undertaking,” noted Zhang Shunfu, CNPV's CEO. “The new linear warranty, in conjunction with our 10 year manufacturing warranty launched one year ago, provides customers with even greater security on their investment, leading to improved financial terms from financiers, and further penetration into their already successful markets.”
The linear power warranty is expected to be made available on module deliveries from Q3 of 2011. CNPV said that the new warranty terms are improvements on existing assurance, with no downgrading of fine detail to allow risk reduction.
CNPV is exhibiting at Intersolar North America, Moscone West, Level 3, booth 9822.
