Module manufacturer, Jinko Solar, has announced its modules have gained Japan's stringent JPEC certification.
The JPEC certification is awarded by the Japan Photovoltaic Energy Association and confirms that modules meet local grid compatibility standards and national safety regulations.
The JPEC certification means Jinko Solar modules can now be used be used for small rooftop installations and that they are now eligible for subsidy under the Japanese government's feed-in tariff.
Jinko said it could now increase the products it offers in Japan, helping meet high module demand in the country.
“Our modules are now certified for use in a wide range of PV systems including residential and commercial rooftops, as well as ground-mounted PV plants in Japan. JPEC certification will surely open the door to new opportunities for us in the rapidly growing Japanese market,” said Kangping Chen, CEO of JinkoSolar.
