Leading ‘Silicon Module Super League’ (SMSL) member JinkoSolar said it had started shipping 560MW of 72-cell modules to US PV power plants projects being developed by Con Edison Development (CED).
JinkoSolar noted that a Master Module Supply Agreement (MSA) had been signed with CED that lasts through August 2017.
“JinkoSolar has a clear understanding of the energy marketplace in which we operate,” said Mark Noyes, President and CEO of Con Edison Development. “It is important that our company continuously improves solar system efficiency in order to remain competitive with other energy sources. JinkoSolar's product roadmap and operational excellence are perfect fits for our company.”
Nigel Cockroft, General Manager of JinkoSolar (U.S.), added: “JinkoSolar's strong momentum in the U.S. solar industry is a direct result of our company's dedication to reliability in both module performance and customer support.”
The JinkoSolar MSA is one of the largest signed in 2016 for the US market, after Hanwha Q CELLS deal in 2015 to supply US utility NextEra Energy Resources 1.5GW of modules for projects planned in 2016.
