juwi has announced the construction of Thuringia’s biggest PV plant in Ronneburg. The construction of the 20MW solar power plant will begin in April 2012 and the project is expected to commence commercial production in June this year. The energy generated will be fed into the national grid.
“Solar power is a central component of a comprehensive renewable energy supply. Without ground-mounted photovoltaic systems is the energy shift to a power supply that is made from 100 percent renewable energy, not possible,” commented juwi CEO Fred Jung. “Thuringia is a country full of energy and has great potential for decentralized supply of clean electricity. juwi supported regions and municipalities to tap this potential.”
