Inverter manufacturer KACO new energy has announced collaboration with PV module electronics producer Ampt to produce inverters for utility-scale and commercial installations. KACO’s inverters will work in Ampt mode and use Ampt’s DC/CD converters. The use of Ampt mode in the inverters can result in a higher power output as well as lower costs due to a lower balance of system.
David Devir, director of product management at KACO, commented: “By partnering with Ampt, two technologies are merged into a solution which enables lower up-front capital costs, while increasing the energy yield of the PV system. Offering a PV system solution which results in a lower LCOE, will assist KACO new energy with market share growth in the North American market.”
