PV inverter manufacturer, KACO new energy has opened a 2GW nameplate capacity manufacturing facility in London, Ontario to provide the Canadian market with ‘home content’ central inverters. The new facility is expected to ramp to 700MW of capacity by the end of the year, focused on producing its XP-series central PV inverters. Approximately, 100 workers will be employed at the facility.
President Ralf Hofmann said, “We’re delighted to be involved in the development of the solar industry in Ontario! We will create sustainable jobs and promote the development of clean energy supplies.”
KACO said the new manufacturing plant was equipped with a 100kW PV system and incorporates energy saving measures that mean the facility is ‘climate neutral.
