Japanese companies Kansai Electric Power Co. and TonenGeneral Sekiyu have teamed up to develop a 30MW solar power plant in the Japanese city of Arida in Wakayama prefecture.
As part of the plans, Kanden Energy Solution Co, a company owned by Kansai Electric, will build and operate a 30MW PV facility on a 45-hectare site owned by TonenGeneral Sekiyu. In addition to providing the land, TonenGeneral Sekiyu will also handle regular facility inspections and other aspects of plant management.
The facility is scheduled to complete and become operational in the 2014 financial year. It is expected to generate an estimated 31 million kWh of electricity annually.
