Austria’s Kioto Photovoltaics has bought a turnkey module line for its new 50MW manufacturing system from centrotherm photovoltaics. Prepayment for the system has already been made and it will be delivered to Kioto in Q2, with the first solar modules being produced at the start of Q3.
“In Kioto Photovoltaics, we have gained an innovative European customer and professional development partner”, said centrotherm’s Peter Fath. “Our aim is to support Kioto in further reducing their manufacturing costs, and in becoming a premium cost-leader in module production within western Europe.”
“We are confident of a significant competitive advantage as the result of deploying state-of-the-art technology from market leader centrotherm”, added Ingram Eusch, managing director of Kioto. “Innovations enjoy a high priority for both centrotherm and us, which gives rise to an interesting development partnership.”
The new module production line increases Kioto’s overall production capacity to 120MW.
