Konarka Technologies revealed that it had recently appointed Kevin Debasitis as its new director of business development, a role that will see him focus on customer development and revenue growth in the North American market. Debasitis is a 20-year veteran in the business development field and joins Konarka from Gemma Renewable Power where he was the national business development manager.
Past engagements saw Debasitis working in business development roles for companies such as Gilbane Building, Suffolk Construction, Spagnolo Gisness & Associates and Fluor Corporation. He holds a BA in geology and geophysics from Yale University and completed his master’s degree in environmental engineering at Northeastern University.
“Kevin brings to Konarka a long track record of sales achievements with companies from start-ups to some of the largest companies in their market, including Fluor Corporation,” commented Kenneth McCauley, vice president of sales, marketing and business development at Konarka. “His focus in the construction, construction management, engineering and renewable energy markets, as well as his established base of contacts within the architect’s profession, will positively impact Konarka’s ability to capitalize on the capabilities our photovoltaic material brings to these markets.”
