Korean PV manufacturer Jusung is planning to open a 100MW capacity production plant in Kerala, India.
The company has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Kerala State Industrial Corporation to begin work on the project, which has an estimated cost of INR 500 crore (US$92.3 million).
The initial phase will be a pre-feasibility study to establish the viability of the project, after which a detailed report will be produced. The first study is due to be completed in May.
Earlier this year, the Kerala state government unveiled a new solar policy tagreting 1,500MW of installed capacity by 2030.
