Kotura,
Inc., the silicon photonic product provider, has added Dr. Gerald J.
Fine to its Board of Directors. Dr. Fine is President and CEO of Schott
North America, Inc., and earlier in his career he worked in various
technical and management roles at Corning. Dr. Fine is a
much-published author in the industry, has nine U.S. patents, and has a
Bachelor’s degree from Amherst College and a Ph.D. from the California
Institute of Technology.
“Kotura’s strategy of using silicon photonics for optical interconnects will enable more efficient transceiver designs, allowing network centers around the world to reduce their power consumption and save energy,” said Dr. Fine. “I am delighted to participate in the company as a member of the Board.”
