Kyocera Corporation has appointed Tetsuo Kuba as the new President and Representative Director. Kuba replaces Makoto Kawamura, who will serve as Chairman of the Management Board and Representative Director. Kuba hopes to work in cooperation with Kawamura to respond to the company’s current challenges.
Kuba had been with the company since 1982 in the Automotive Components Division before rising to its Managing Director in 2000. He spent some time in the Corporate Fine Ceramics Division, and then became the division’s Executive Officer in 2003. He joined the Supervisory Board in 2008.
“I am looking forward to working with the new management board. Together we shall be guiding Kyocera into a successful future, in keeping with our corporate philosophy,” said Kuba.
This management reorganization is the Kyocera Corporation’s response to the current challenges, which Kuba aims to master as quickly as possible, working in close cooperation with his predecessor Makoto Kawamura.
