Limen is planning to build a new High Concentrating PV (CPV) powered pipeline of utility-scale solar projects in Italy, starting with two 1MW systems in Sicily.
These first two systems will be the first large-scale CPV systems to be built in Italy, with grid connection expected in late 2011. Limen has signed an agreement with Titan Tracker to supply 80 of its dual-axis trackers for the ground-breaking systems.
“The performance and specifications of Titan trackers are indeed optimal for our next projects in Italy,” Limen’s head of renewable energy, Roberto Petti, said. “It has demonstrated to be a proven and efficient dual-axis tracker for CPV.”
“We are delighted to have entered into this agreement in Italy with Limen, which is one of the few companies with a complete set of capabilities, expertise and background to deliver utility scale CPV solar projects. This agreement is a milestone pioneering tracking technologies,” Titan Tracker managing director Juan Pablo Cabanillas added.
