Portuguese solar developer Martifer Solar and Canadian roofing specialist Triumph have completed and connected 32 PV plants in Toronto through Martifer Solar Triumph, a subsidiary formed by the two companies.
Martifer Solar Triumph carried out engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) duties on all of the plants, which are all under a megawatt capacity each, ranging from 33.7kWp to 542.2kWp. The plants have a combined generation capacity of 4.9MWp.
The plants were developed by local company Potentia Solar as part of a wider Canadian pipeline Martifer Solar Triumph is working on. The Martifer-Triumph partnership was formed almost a year ago for rooftop and ground mount projects, for operations and maintenance (O&M) contracts as well as development and EPC activities. When the partnership was announced in September 2014, it also took over some of Martifer’s applications in Ontario under the FIT3 feed-in tariff (FiT) programme.
The 4.9MWp of Toronto plants were all completed by late August, using a total of around 18,860 polycrystalline PV modules, Martifer said, although module supplier details were not given. The partners expect the plants to generate 5GWh a year.
