Portugal-based Martifer Solar has completed the construction of two PV plants in Romania totalling 5.41MWp.
The plants have been built for Danish company Eurowind Energy, which operates in Denmark, Germany and Poland as well as Romania.
According to Martifer Solar, over 22,000 photovoltaic modules will be used across the two ground-mounted plants, one a 2.03MW project in Brasov county and the other a 3.38MWp project near Bucharest.
The two power stations have a combined area of 12.5 hectares and will produce around 7GWh output annually.
The projects follow three other PV plants in Romania that Martifer has completed for Eurowind since 2012, including the country’s first utility scale project. Research firm I.H.S ranked Martifer Solar as the fourth largest EPC contractor in Europe among 700 companies surveyed. Martifer Solar recently inaugurated 17.8MW of projects in Portugal with Hanwha Q Cells and also announced plans in late August to build 50MW capacity across five PV plants in the UK.
Financial details of the projects have not been disclosed.
