The operating management team at Meyer Burger is being strengthened as the company adjusts to becoming a larger company on the back of a series of acquisitions and organic growth. The company has created the new position of Chief Operating Officer (COO), which will be filled by current CEO of subsidiary, MB Wafertec Bernhard Gerber, effective August 1st, 2011.
Martin Plüss will take over the responsibilities as CEO of MB Wafertec from Bernhard Gerber on the same date.
According to Meyer Burger, Gerber has been acting in various management capacities for the Group since 2007 and, as COO will mainly be responsible for the Global Supply Chain Management, the Global Services and selective process- and integration key projects across the entire group organisation.
Martin Plüss has been a member of the Executive Board of MB Wafertec in Thun and, as Head of Production & Logistics he has been responsible for Operations since August 2010.
