Motech Industries has appointed Dr. Peng Heng Chang as the new chief executive officer, effective March 31, 2010. Chang replaces Dr. Simon Y.H. Tsuo, who will relinquish his CEO position and focus on his position as chairman of the board of directors. Yung-Hui Tseng, vice chairman and deputy CEO, will also give up his current position of deputy CEO.
“The board of directors is pleased to welcome Dr. Chang to Motech and congratulates him on his critical appointment as CEO,” said Dr. Tsuo. “Dr. Chang has in-depth knowledge of materials engineering and over 30 years experience in management at multinational technology companies. We believe Dr. Chang can greatly enhance Motech’s corporate governance, management and operational excellence.”
“After leading Motech for more than 10 years, I look forward to collaborating with Dr. Chang as he leverages his experience to work at Motech. Our collaborative efforts will be far-reaching, not only in terms of advancing the technologies, but also in terms of business development opportunities for Motech to grow its leading position in solar PV industry,” said Dr. Tsuo.
Chang was previously vice president of materials management and risk management, VP of human resources and senior director of materials management at Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing. He received his Ph.D. degree in Materials Engineering from Purdue University in 1981.
