MP2 Capital has announced the completion of a PV project for the Sacramento County water agency’s vineyard surface water treatment plant in Sacramento, California. The 921.2kW project is already the seventh installation MP2 Capital has completed in California.
Oak Leaf Partners were in charge of developing the project and Intermountain Electric engineered and installed Yingli Solar modules. The power generated by the project will be sold to the Sacramento municipal utility district under a 20-year PPA and the municipal utility district will also purchase the renewable energy certificates (RECs) for five years.
MP2 Capital’s chief executive officer Mark Lerdal noted: “MP2 Capital is proud to provide a reliable source of renewable energy to the Vineyard Surface Water Treatment Plant. This is a facility which, by treating the available surface water supply, is reducing the County’s demand for limited groundwater resources. It just makes sense to enhance the Treatment Plant’s underlying goal of providing a sustainable water supply to Sacramento County by powering the facility with renewable energy.”
