The largest merchant solar cell producer, Neo Solar Power Corporation (NSP) reported record sales in December, primarily due to its PV project developer subsidiary, General Energy Solutions (GES) selling a US project for US$26 million.
NSP reported December 2014 sales of NT$2,877 million (US$89.86 million), compared with November 2014 sales of NT$2.096 billion (US$67.4 million).
This results in the fourth straight month of revenue growth for NSP and a 37.27% increase of the previous month and new historical high for the company.
However, extracting the one off PV project sale of US$26 million, NSP had normal solar cell related sales of around US$63.8 million, equating to a sales decline of around 6% from the previous month.
NSP’s full year sales topped NT$27,581 million (US$861.5 million), an increase of over 37% from the previous year.
The company said that it expected the PV market to continue expand at double-digit levels in 2015 and expected solar cell ASP’s to also improve at some stage in the year.
