In another demonstration of the rush to add new ingot production to meet demand for c-Si solar wafers, Meyer Burger has received an order worth approximately US$235 million for wire saws, cropping saws and wafer inspection systems from an unidentified customer based in Asia. Deliveries of the equipment are expected throughout 2010 and 2011.

“Thanks to the successful implementation of a best in class logistics system and the expansion of capacity, we today have the ability to process orders for key solar companies and maintain our flexibility to the market,” noted Peter Pauli, CEO of the Meyer Burger Group

The wafer inspection systems will supplied by Hennecke Systems, a subsidiary of Meyer Berger. Some of Meyer Berger’s Asia-based customers include Suntech, Yingli Green, Motech, Trina Solar and ReneSola.
