Chile green-lighted 206MW of PV capacity in April
Chilean authorities green-lighted four solar power projects with a total capacity of 206MW in April, according to a report published this month by Centro de Energias Renovables (CER), a Chilean renewable energy research group
In the same month, an additional four PV projects with a combined capacity of 333MW were submitted to the Chilean environmental authority Servicio de Evaluación Ambiental for approval.
Among the projects seeking approval is a proposed 135MW PV installation submitted by Saferay, an independent power producer. If approval is sought, the project will be built in the Atacama Desert in northern Chile with construction slated to commence in September.
