As victor in the recent bidding for the contractor role, Conergy will again team up with Stadtwerke Trier to construct Mehring IV, a 2.2MW project to be based in the greater Trier region of Germany. The 2.2MW will consist of one 1.2MW plant beside federal motorway A1 and another 1MW plant located on former military terrain between Trier and Bitburg.
Conergy has completed approximately 13MW of solar power projects in collaboration with SWT Stadtwerke Trier since they began working together in 2009. Conergy will act as general contractor, planner and site designer and will also supply all components required of the projects – including 9,500 Conergy PowerPlus modules and SolarLinea mounting systems – which are scheduled for grid connection at the end of June 2012.
Stadtwerke Trier has stated that it intends to provide more than half of Trier’s electricity requirements from renewable energy sources by 2025. It currently operates solar parks with a total capacity of more than 30MW, around 13MW of which was constructed with Conergy as partner.
