As part of this NRG plan, customers will benefit from local PV energy with flexible options to meet a business’ needs. The plan features variable term lengths, including the chance to procure up to 100% of a customer’s electricity usage from a renewable resource and naming rights to the designated facility.

Cypress Creek will own and operate the PV projects and provide the electricity generated to NRG and its customers as part of power purchase agreements.

Matthew McGovern, CEO of Cypress Creek, said: “Cypress Creek is pleased to join forces with NRG to provide a locally sourced solar product to meet the needs of commercial and industrial consumers.”

Robert Gaudette, senior vice president, business solutions of NRG, added: “This collaboration marks the future of widespread availability of commercial and industrial solar products in Texas, fulfilling the state’s promise of a customer-choice market design. Businesses want simplicity in renewables, and together with Cypress Creek, we will help bring them closer to their sustainability goals.”
