Hanwha SolarOne, a vertically-integrated manufacturer of silicon ingots, wafers and PV cells and modules, has announced two new appointments to its senior management team. Min-Su Kim has been appointed as the company’s new president while Jeong Eui Hong joins as the chief technology officer.

Kim joins the company from Hanwha SolarOne’s parent company Hanwha Group, where he most recently served as Vice President of the Planning and Strategy team at Hanwha’s headquarters. Prior to this position, Kim was Vice President of Corporate Planning for Hanwha Chemical from 2008 to 2011. In this role, he led the company's study and selection of the solar business.

With a strong background in both the semi-conductor and solar industries, Hong joins SolarOne from Hanwha Chemical, where he served as Head of the Solar R&D Group since 2010. Before joining Hanwha Chemical, Hong worked as Head of Technology at Millinet Solar and spent nine years at Applied Materials Korea where he focused on metallization technology and eight years as a senior researcher at LG Semicon Co.
