During Mage Solar’s unveiling of its Powertec Plus modules at Intersolar Europe 2011, the company announced that it had started production of the module line at its Dublin, Georgia plant at the beginning of June. Testing and certification for the 190W monocrystalline and 230W polycrystalline modules was successfully completed, allowing the modules to begin production in Dublin earlier this month.

“The start of production is an important milestone. The modules meet the requirements of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, a stimulus program of the US government. Our new ‘Buy America’ products give our technical partners in the USA the very best of chances in public sector invitations to bid,” says Dr. Markus Feil, CEO of Mage Solar. “And there is a lot of interest – the waiting list had built up some time before we even began production.”

Mage Solar’s Dublin headquarters opened in July 2010 and employees 50 people. The Powertec Plus modules will be produced on a 40MW capacity fully automated production line provided by Spire.
