PV mounting systems specialist Renusol has appointed Sven Künzel from rival company Schletter as its new managing director.

Künzel was formerly the head of international sales at Schletter, after starting his career as project manager for large-scale PV installations for juwi, eleven years ago.

He replaces Stefan Liedtke after five years at Renusol, who is leaving the company and the sector to join Danish company Cembrit as its chief commercial officer.

Renusol’s parent company, RBI Solar was recently acquired by Gibraltar Industries, listed on the NYSE.

“I am delighted to have been given this new role. With its sophisticated PV roof mounting solutions in particular, Renusol has managed to build an innovative brand,” said Sven Künzel. “The acquisition of RBI Solar by Gibraltar Industries has created a solid financial basis for expanding Renusol’s business – I envisage many promising opportunities.”

Künzel will be responsible for opening new markets and expanding market share.
