Die Sonnenfirma has finished construction of a 1.46MWp solar project in the Bavarian city of Würzburg. The system, which is the largest in north Bavaria, has already passed the EEG test and grid connection is expected to be achieved in the coming weeks.
China-based manufacturer Seraphim Solar System is providing the 5,600 modules that will populate the 19,400m2 site; the custom-made panels have an anti-reflective coating and will generate enough electricity to cater for the energy requirements of 400 households in the city.

“Seraphim’s panels are designed to adapt the environment better than conventional products,” Die Sonnenfirma CEO Heiner Büld said. “Würzburg project is really a key milestone for both of us, and in fact it is just one element of our long-term goal to be a highly capable and efficient producer of solar power.”
Würzburg is the first of four solar installations Seraphim and Die Sonnenfirma are planning to collaborate on in 2012. The remaining projects in the pipeline will all be located in eastern Germany and have a combined capacity of 10MW.
