Nice Sun PV advised that it has achieved a 0.1% increase in overall cell efficiency in high volume production with the help of Despatch Industries SolectFire technology. The two companies came together to work on demonstrating the benefits for manufacturing Nice Sun’s 18.8% efficient monocrystalline solar cells with SolectFire.
Despatch Industries noted that SolectFire is its most recent CF Series advancement and available on new firing furnaces and as an upgrade to existing CF Series equipment. The technology is said to open the firing process window, giving the operator control of the top and bottom of each firing zone. Additionally, each side of the cell can be fired at different temperatures.
“Nice Sun manufactures some of the highest efficiency monocrystalline solar cells available in the market today,” stated Mr. Zhu, Nice Sun general manager. “Through our cooperation with Despatch and the use of SolectFire, we have been able to achieve greater efficiencies in high volume production and improve our overall performance. SolectFire technology provides the advantage of a wider firing process window and more precise temperature control for manufacturing our new generation high efficiency solar cells.”
