Russia-based polysilicon producer Nitol Solar has appointed Valery Rostokin as its new CEO. Rostokin replaces Dmitriy Kotenko, who has stepped aside to take up a position on the board of directors and as the company’s strategic development advisor.
“I am excited to head one of the leading innovative companies in Russia, which contributes to development of the global renewable energy industry,” Rostokin said. “At present, the primary target set by our shareholders is the rapid ramp up in polysilicon production volumes as well as fulfilling the company's obligations in the supply contracts with our long term customers.”
Talking about the appointment, Kotenko, one of Nitol’s founding members, said, “Valery Rostokin is a highly professional and versatile executive with experience of solving ambitious development tasks. He will lead the team of top managers in transforming the company into a key player in the global PV market.”
Prior to joining Nitol, Rostokin, 44, held senior management positions at JSC Company TransTeleCom and NVisionGroup. He holds degrees in economics, engineering and law from Beijing University and Moscow State Law Academy.
