Indian utility National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) has invited bids for 100MW of solar PV projects in the state of Uttar Pradesh under the National Solar mission (NSM) Phase-II, Batch-II, Tranche-I.
The bids will be for 10 projects with a capacity of 10MW each.
The cumulative capacity of projects to be allocated to a company including its parent or affiliate will be limited to 50MW.
According to the latest report on India's energy transformation from the Institute for Energy Economics and Financial Analysis (IEEFA) Adani Power is also considering a second 1GW solar industrial park in Uttar Pradesh, with an initial solar project of up to 50MW underway there now.
India's Ministry of New and Renewable Energy recently released a year-by-year breakdown of how it would reach its 100GW solar by 2022 target including rooftop and ground-mount installations.
