The first order, placed for a dedicated production line for TCO coatings on glass for PV applications, has been sold to an unidentified customer in Asia by Beneq and Glaston. Launched in September, 2010 by Beneq and Glaston, the new TFC2000 continuous offline production concept, enables a commercially affordable way to manufacture high-quality TCO coated glass for the thin-film PV industry in particular.
“This is a definitive demonstration of the growing need for high-quality TCO-glass and coating equipment to manufacture it. It is also good proof of the seamless cooperation between Beneq and Glaston, which with this transaction has taken a giant leap forward,” commented Beneq CEO, Sampo Ahonen.
The total order is approximately €14 million, of which Glaston’s share is over €4 million. The line delivery is scheduled for the first quarter of 2012.
