As part of its plans to become a 1GW-plus integrated solar cell manufacturer, Chinese state-owned company, Lu’an Group Corp has commissioned its first 60MW solar cell turnkey factory from centrotherm photovoltaics. A second-phase expansion program is also underway, which will see cell production expanded to between 300 and 360MW. The related investment is in the lower triple-digit euro million range, according to centrotherm.
“We are successfully implementing the integrated factory concept by delivering polysilicon production and solar cell manufacturing as a one-stop solution, thereby positioning our customers as cost leaders on the market,” stated Hans Autenrieth, Management Board member responsible for sales at centrotherm photovoltaics. “The Luan Group is enjoying double benefits at the same time – in addition to integration, there are also the benefits of scale thanks to capacity expansion.”
centrotherm SiTec has also been contracted to establish a 3,000MT polysilicon plant for Lu’an Group.
