Having recently launched its CIGS thin-film turnkey offerings via its licensing and cooperation contract with Würth Solar, Manz Automation expects to sign its first customer by the end of this year after positive feedback for its CIGSfab product during the EU PVSEC in Valencia. The company also noted orders for its OneStep Selective Emitter technology and Speedpicker technology, with 30 systems now sold to customers based in Asia.
“I believe that we are on the right track,” noted Dieter Manz, CEO of Manz Automation AG. “We have used the crisis year 2009 to thoroughly prepare us for the next surge of innovations. This is now paying off as we can prove our position as technology leader for the photovoltaics industry yet again.”
According to Manz, one of the new customers for its OneStep Selective Emitter technology, which is claimed to increase the efficiency of crystalline solar cells by about 0.5% was said to be a ‘renowned Asian electronics group.’
Further orders were expected by Manz for its OneStep and Speedpicker technology due to the positive responses received at the trade fair, the company said.
